Reading to Sixth Graders During Read Across America

“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child,” said the late Dr. Seuss.

This week is the 17th annual Read Across America, a nationwide reading celebration by the National Education Association with an assist from Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P. Tomorrow I will read to sixth graders at Floyd Elementary School.

I’ll be reading this and a Newberry Medal winner called From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg.
